Ottawa’s newest dining-house restaurant is going to be a huge hit.
The hubbell, which opened earlier this year, has already received glowing reviews from readers and staff.
“They have a great, friendly staff and they do an amazing job,” said restaurant critic Kevin Kelly.
“I think the food was very good.
I like the menu.”
Kelly says he will be visiting more of the hubbell’s restaurants to see how it’s progressing.
And he’s hoping to find out more about the future of the former Roxy nightclub, which was demolished last month.
“It’s really sad to see it go, and I’m hoping the owners will get some kind of development going and see it grow, too,” he said.
“If it can grow to where we’re able to have the same kind of atmosphere we have now, then it’ll be wonderful.”
The hub-bell is located at the corner of Lansdowne Street and Lansdownen Avenue, next to the Lansdownene Hotel and Casino.
(CBC)Kelly says the owners of the new restaurant should be given credit for the success of the restaurant.
“We think the idea was brilliant,” he says.
“People are going to want to come here.
We think they’ve really done an amazing thing with this space.”
He says the hub-billed dining-room has the right atmosphere.
“You have a beautiful, cozy setting,” he told CBC News.
“The staff are so friendly.
They’re just wonderful.”
Kelly says he’ll be coming back to visit the new location soon, and has also invited some friends to come and eat at the new place.
