Restaurant giant Wagner’s is ending its partnership with Cornell University in New York and cutting back on its operations in the state, according to a letter obtained by National Review.
Cornell University announced the closure of its Cornell Dining Center earlier this month, saying it has learned of “unprecedented” food safety issues.
Cornell has already cut nearly half of its workforce in the wake of the incident, according the letter.
Cornell’s letter to its students and employees did not address Wagner, citing the ongoing investigation.
“We are extremely disappointed that we will no longer be able to serve our students and staff at Wagner dining halls in New New York State,” the university wrote in the letter to students and their families.
“Our team has identified several issues that will require additional attention to ensure the safety of our guests and employees at Cornell.”
Wagner also cut ties with three other Cornell dining halls and is reportedly cutting the number of employees in the Cornell dining hall in New Jersey from 200 to 150, according a report in the New York Post.
The Cornell letter said that the Cornell Dine Center’s closure was part of a plan to consolidate its operations and was not related to the incident at Wagners New York City headquarters.
Wagners announcement came after the New Jersey State Police announced that it had launched an investigation into an incident that took place at Wagons New York headquarters in February.
The investigation has been suspended while the state Department of Consumer Affairs completes its investigation, according state officials.
“There is a need for additional resources to be dedicated to this critical area,” said Richard Kretzmann, a Cornell spokesman.
The New York Attorney General’s office has launched an internal investigation into the matter, which will be handled by the state’s Attorney General.
Wagner is a leading food and beverage chain in the United States.
It has been a fixture in the nation’s dining scene for nearly 40 years, and it has a strong restaurant brand in the region.
The company has also become a major player in the food service industry.
In addition to its Cornell dining centers, the company operates restaurants in Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, and San Francisco.
