On January 8, the Sewall Group’s flagship dining hall was destroyed by a fire at its main location in Sewall, Mumbai.
The fire was so fierce that it destroyed the entire roof of the building, leaving the building to burn for several hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Sewall restaurant was owned by Sewall International, the private company that runs the restaurant in the main building.
Sewall’s website states that the restaurant, which opened in 2012, had been operating under a strict management regime and was operated in accordance with Sewall guidelines.
However, it is the first time that a Sewall Restaurant has been completely destroyed.
“We have been in a constant struggle to maintain our reputation, and we hope to bring this to an end with the restoration of Sewall dining halls and Sewall restaurants.
This is not the first loss we have suffered,” said Anil Kumar Sewall from the Sewal Group, which runs Sewall hotels and restaurants.
The hotel chain had earlier suffered a fire in 2011 that destroyed part of the hotel and two other locations.
Sewal had to pay out around Rs 3,000 crore to the victims and to the fire department in the years after the fire.
The company had to write down its losses on paper and post the details of the losses on the company website.
However the company had decided to stop publishing the losses and start paying out to the families of those who lost their lives.
